UKGitter

This is another side-project of mine – one that wouldn’t require much maintenance to keep up & running. It’s a twitter tool to track the conversation regarding UK Garage music.
It was built over a couple of evenings after work & I’m fairly happy with the turnout. It utilises a jQuery tool called Juitter which interogates the twitter search API and returns results based on the searchwords.
In this case, it’s searching for the initials ukg. I would of used a hashtag however not everyone uses #ukg on twitter. This has caused another problem though. The idea behind UKGitter is to track UK Garage music, however other communities use the acronym UKG for other uses. These of course get bundled into the conversation, and things get sidetracked.
It’s also allowed me to play around with some CSS3 but this was more of an after-though so it’s not overly obundant, nor is the webkit trickery I used.
