Keith True, Story So Far...
Keith True is a highly experienced DJ from South East London who works for two agents mainly covering London and the South East.
Keith True is a former UK Garage promoter who was owner and founder of a collective known as ‘Garage Lovin’ Family’ (aka The GLF) who worked with many artists, promoters and radio stations all over London and included some parts of the USA. Many members of Garage Lovin’ Family still work within the music industry, including one member having a number 1 smash hit success in the UK Charts.
Due to its expansion and other commitments the GLF was handed over to be run by business partner Tony Marks (AKA DJ Qwest) and Keith True‘s younger brother DJ Kennedy. (DJ Qwest is still Operations Manager of The GLF and many other projects).
Keith True originally shy’d away from the DJing side of things, preferring to work behind the scenes. That was until the summer of 2003 while working in Kavos, Corfu with international promoters Trinity, to help out covering locations and sets.
On returning to London after 4 months, Keith True did not want to stick to just one style of music. With such eclectic taste in music he wanted to explore the possibilities open to him. With his abilities to diverse from one genre to another this made for a perfect opportunity to work in mainstream bars and clubs where the mix of people is as complex as his musical abilities. As well as the weekly residencies, Keith True continues to receive bookings by promoters for a range of events. All this makes Keith True a name found on flyers for promoters all over the country.
Keith True has been signed to GB Entertainments since December 2003 and also signed to Darren Burrges in February 2004 and since then has worked almost every weekend since in a host of locations, residencies and regular spots all over the South East of England, as well as special bookings in Europe.
In 2007 Keith True returned to his promotion roots working with a close friend on the launch of ‘True VIP’. As with his own style, each of the events focuses on different styles of music and appeals to a wide spread fan base. True Events also organise events to raise money for Cancer Research UK in the memory of his younger brother. The charity is the world’s leading independent organisation dedicated to cancer research.
At the start of the summer 2008 True Events was commissioned by Town and City Pubs, the company behind the ‘Yates’ chain, to organise and promote in house promotions events in London, Kent, Surrey and East Sussex.
